Music - 20th & 21st Of October

On the 20th we spent time finishing off the final sections of Winter Wonderland, I found sections A and B quite easy but section C is a bit too hard for me to remember completely, but roughly I can pull it together. I think that section C is only more difficult, because it has a lot more complicated notes to play than sections A and B, Section A is very basic and section B has a catchy way of playing it which is why I find it easy to play. After the term, to make it easy for me to play I'm going to play section C alone at first, section-by-section rather than it all jumbling together

On the 21th we did not spent so much time on Section A,B and C. Instead we were working on our solo pieces which I was quite exciting about, within the hour we decided that our tonality was going to be minor(sad) rather than major (happy), because it will create a better scene for the sections of the song we have practised so far. The theme for Winter Wonderland is obviously as you can tell by the name very wintery and involves connecting the music to the weather e.g Minor gives us an image of snow, rain drops, wind and rustling leaves which are all related to winter.

I focused mainly on mostly the Harmony but still the melody, i started by fiddling around with the keyboard and using continues sequences and changing them around with different chords. I wrote them round roughly on a piece of paper, and then after we practised our oslos on the steel pans and where they could fit them in to Winter Wonderland, my solo had quite a strange chinesse-traditional melody to it. Me and Demi both played this together. We got through quite a lot these two days and I enjoyed music a lot cant wait till the lesson next week.
