THE BIG PERFORMACE - 14th of December

The day we have all been waiting for, our whole 4 month of preparation was all depending on today...

Our performance was set into 4 different parts:

1st) Dance
2nd) Media - Presentation
3rd) Music
4th) Drama

DANCE:

Our dance performance I thought went quite well, better than we actually thought, we all kept our smiley faces and the best thing is that there was no fuss and everyone was reading for their Que. No-one was hurt or dropped, there were one or two slips that other people made but because everyone else was on point, It wasn't noticed. And the best thing no matter what we still continued and everyone put on the hard work and effort after all! Our dance performance was a true success.

MEDIA PRESENTATION:

For this part of the performance, as I mentioned in one of my previous blogs, I volunteered to speak out loud amongst our edits and how we made them, why we made them like that and how every single edit relates to winter wonderland and autumn weather! I spoke in detail enough for their ability and understanding, but at the same time I included advanced words, the advantage of this was that they learnt something new.

I presented it using the assistance of one of the heads of the Media Department, he used the computer to click through each photograph. I also used a white projecting board enable for them to see the presentation large on screen. The time gap for the children to view the photograph was enough for them to think of their opinion upon it. The presentation lasted about 2 minutes in total. I used my loud and clear speaking skills very well, I only stuttered once. The presentation went well!

MUSIC:

This part of the performance actually went quite well, I feel that our winter wonderland piece sounded lovely and humble. I assumed that we would have messed up, even a tiny bit but in fact it came out nearly perfect. And our own Winter Composition was the best part, I think because we made it up our selfs we are more confident on that song. The primary school audience and teachers was so amused by our Music performance that they asked for an encore, so we agreed to do re-perform it again at the end of our Pantomime performance.

DRAMA:

The last part of the perform ace was a great fit, as they say save the best for last and make it very dramatic ;) We had to get dressed fast after the Music performance, but all the people in the first  scene were all on time for our Que(s).
The performance was going smooth with the help of a student from year 11, not sure of her name but she whispered some lines in the wings to other students and the audience barely noticed. The costumes looked great and I put in a lot of effort especially for the first scene and the gnome scenes, but in scene 2 when I played the part of Humphrey (Queen's Servant) and I had to act out how I felt about the queen requesting me to commit murder to snow white. There was a long pause as I did not know what my lines was, fortunately Shyanne (Narrator) hinted out the beginning of the line and as the lines came back to memory, I continued my scene in the pantomime as if it never happened. So I had to improvise for the time being in which I forgot my lines.

The ending of the pantomime was excellent, we all looked so enthusiastic. We included a funny part of it as well where we would act silly and pretend to break dance as the curtains were closing as they do in typical Pantomimes!

OVERALL:

The performance was a success and all the practise and rehearsing paid off. Thanks to our teachers and especially Miss.Williams for pulling all this together!
